PUBG Mobile ships a major version update roughly every two months, plus smaller hotfixes. The pattern is consistent enough that you can plan around it.
What a version update usually contains
- A new or revised map area. Occasionally a full map, more often a reworked zone with better loot distribution.
- One or two new weapons or attachments, followed by a balance pass a few weeks later.
- Balance changes to the existing meta — recoil, damage falloff, attachment behaviour.
- A new Royale Pass season with a fresh reward track.
- A collaboration event, which is usually where the best codes of the season come from.
- A code batch released on the launch stream and the official channels.
Why update day is the best day to check codes
Version launches are the most reliable moment for a high-value code. The batch is large, the announcement is coordinated, and the publishers want players logging in. It is also when UC codes appear most often.
Redeem on the day, not the weekend. A launch-day UC code is frequently exhausted within 24 hours.
What most players get wrong after an update
- They keep the old sensitivity. Weapon balance changes — especially recoil — can make a previously perfect setting feel wrong. Re-run the wall-tracking drill from the sensitivity guide once per version.
- They ignore the graphics reset. Major updates sometimes reset graphics settings. Check that you are still on Smooth with a stable frame rate: FPS guide.
- They skip the new event. The token shop that ships with an update carries exclusives you cannot get afterwards.
- They do not check codes. The single easiest value on update day.
The five-minute update-day routine
- Update the game and log in to trigger any reward mail — including comeback rewards if you have been away.
- Redeem every fresh code from the current list.
- Open the new event and note the token shop closing date.
- Confirm graphics and sensitivity settings survived the update.
- Check the Royale Pass reward track for coupon drops.
That is the whole routine. It captures essentially everything an update gives away for free.
